The President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) will be returning to Nigeria on Thursday morning after a six-day trip to the United Kingdom in the company of former President Shehu Shagari, THISDAY newspaper is reporting.
The president-elect, who during his trip to the UK, held a meeting with British Prime Minister, David Cameron, will arrive the country via Abuja onboard a British Airways flight.
Buhari had departed the country early hours of last Friday in the company of two of his close aides, in what has been interpreted in some quarters as a tactical withdrawal from the political intrigues playing out in his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in regards to zoning of National Assembly positions.
A statement later released by the spokesperson of his campaign organization, Garba Shehu, said Mr. Buhari decided to get some rest ahead of the inauguration before returning refreshed and re-energized for the arduous task of running the country.
