17 Petitions Filed Before Rivers Election Tribunal
Several cases of irregularities during the April 11 governorship election in Rivers State will be heard by the Rivers Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja. Already, 17 petitions had been filed by Tuesday. The Tribunal Secretary, Mrs Deborah Musa made this known in an interview in Abuja. She, however, did not give a breakdown. The tribunal which is supposed to hear the cases in Rivers State, was forced to relocate to Abuja following security threats. The relocation, according to Musa, was approved by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa. Musa said the tribunal would be sitting at Court 20 and Court 23 of the Apo High Court complex in Abuja
